North Sea Cycle Route

The North Sea Cycle Route circumnavigates the North Sea by bike - over 3.500 miles - and the circuit joins Scotland with Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and England - cities to visit include Bergen, Stavanger, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Den Haag and Edinburgh.

The route is a collaboration between the European Union and over sixty local authorities in seven countries. It aims to encourage cycling as a healthy and environmentally friendly form of tourism, and in particular to make cyclists aware of the opportunities for cycling holidays in other countries around the North Sea, making use of the many international ferry services.
