After six miles of the Leeds - Liverpool Canal, the cycle route and waterway are about to separate but meet up for a brief period again five miles later on the edge of Gargrave village. This is a much needed and easy flat run along the canal towpath and country road to Gargrave, the point where the canal finally leaves the cycle route as the canal heads to Leeds and the cycle route follows its northerly Pennine journey.
