How not to cross the M62 motorway. 

First, between Scammonden Reservoir and the thundering M62 traffic you sneak along a narrow track and somehow miss the tunnel under the motorway. You then come back the way you came, take the bleak tunnel that the local suggested in the first place (avoid eye contact as you come back), and head alongside the M62 again but this time on the other side. Then it's back to the route.

And if you have time you can cycle the four bending miles of Scammonden Reservoir. It's a very picturesque water and another of the many reservoirs and lakes in this part of England.
