Just out of Orton it's another 14 miles to Appleby after leaving Sedbergh also 14 miles away and a cycle up and across the moors of Great Asby Scar and by Sunbiggin Tarn. But there are no major climbs or steep sections here making this one of the loveliest and easiest longer upward sections of the route.
