Start of the sculpture trail at Wingate.
Four miles from Haswell and heading south, the route splits through woodlands near Wingate with one section heading to Stockton through Castle Eden Country park and the other to the coast at Hartlepool - the Castle Eden Country Park direction immediately finds a route leading to a sculpture trail of strange wooden structures. This is a lovely section which maintains the excellent crushed stone tracks and passes by allotments and playing fields of the aptly named village of Station Town.
