Moderate to Challenging
This long distance route in the south of Wales gives the cyclist many choices of route, particularly the eastern section. This elevation profile is just one way of doing the Celtic Trail - there are many permutations and you can go whichever way you prefer. There are many spectacular sights including green valleys, forests and mountains - and much of it is traffic-free. The eastern section is the most challenging as it touches the Brecon Beacon range of mountains (although there is an alternative low level route), while overall, the western section, which traverses Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, is much easier and is classed as easy - moderate cycling terrain.
